Vocabie — Privacy Policy

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third-party authentication providers.

• Account Information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and authentication user identifier. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a privacy-relayed address. In Guest (Anonymous) Mode, no personal identifier is collected; we create a random anonymous user ID so your progress syncs across your active session.
• Learning & Study Data: Words you add to your personal dictionary, flashcard study history, repetition intervals, ease factors, review dates, streak counts, daily activity timestamps, and word quotas.
• User Feedback & Reports: Content of feedback messages or dictionary error reports you submit regarding word definitions or example sentences.
• Clipboard & Shared Text (Quick Capture): If enabled, text is processed locally on your device to extract candidate words; it is only transmitted to our servers if you choose to add the suggested word.
• Device & Technical Data: Device model, operating system and version (iOS, Android, macOS), unique device identifiers, default language/locale settings, app version, IP address, and crash logs.
• Purchase & Transaction Information: Subscriptions and in-app credit purchases are processed directly by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details, bank info, or billing address.

• Provide and personalize the Services (manage accounts, sync flashcards and spaced repetition schedules across devices).
• Tailor dictionary definitions and example sentences to your selected native and target language pairs.
• Process purchases and validate access to premium tiers (Plus, Pro) and credit wallet packages.
• Improve dictionary accuracy and optimize application performance.
• Respond to inquiries, support requests, and bug reports.
• Protect systems against abuse and comply with applicable laws and store platform guidelines.

We respect your privacy and do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers under strict confidentiality agreements:

• Supabase, Inc.: Cloud database infrastructure, authentication, and secure backend services.
• Google LLC (Firebase): App analytics and crash/error reporting (Crashlytics).
• Apple Inc.: Authentication (Sign in with Apple) and In-App Purchase processing.
• RevenueCat, Inc.: Subscription and in-app purchase management across app stores (no payment card details are shared or stored).
• AI Infrastructure Providers: Generating definitions and examples. Prompts contain only requested words and language pairs—never personal identifiers.

* We do not currently use advertising or ad-attribution services.

Vocabie uses artificial intelligence models via secure cloud services to generate word definitions, parts of speech, native translations, and example sentences. Definitions are cached in a communal shared pool for all users. Prompts contain no personal identifiers, and private user learning data is never used to train public models.

We retain your personal data as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated study data anytime directly in the App via Settings > Account > Delete Account. Guest accounts can also be permanently deleted from the same menu.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, rectify, erase ("right to be forgotten"), restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at vocabie@cygolabs.com.

Vocabie is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages.

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards including TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit and row-level user data isolation policies.
